Barbara’s Story:
“I Wanted the Least Invasive Option”

Skin Cancer Fighter

When Barbara A., 76, noticed a spot on her nose that had been there for over a decade, she didn’t think much of it. “I told my son, who’s a physician, that it had been there for 12 years and I probably wouldn’t do anything about it. He said, ‘Oh mother, it could take off growing.’ So, I finally got it checked out.”

A biopsy confirmed basal cell skin cancer, and she was referred for Mohs surgery. But Barbara had her doubts. “I thought, there’s no way my skin would heal from that—this is the end of my nose. It’s something everyone would see. I wanted the least invasive treatment I could possibly get.”

After researching her options, Barbara found GentleCure and learned about Image-Guided Superficial Radiotherapy (IGSRT) – a precise, non-surgical treatment for skin cancer. “I thought it sounded like state-of-the-art treatment. I don’t know why every dermatologist or cancer center doesn’t offer it.”

Barbara completed 20 IGSRT treatments over several weeks.

“The experience was wonderful from start to finish. Everyone was professional, kind, and answered all my questions. I didn’t have any side effects – none. The worst part was the biopsy!”

– Barbara A.

Today, Barbara is cancer-free and deeply grateful she trusted her instincts. “If anyone has skin cancer that can be treated by IGSRT, they need to know about GentleCure. I’m a believer in it. It should be for everybody.”
