Skin Cancer Fighter Jody is no stranger to fighting cancer. When her children were young and she was still working full-time, she survived a brain tumor at age 38 and endometrial cancer at 40. So, when she learned she had basal cell skin cancer on her chin, her fear was immediate.
“I about had a stress attack. I spent hours researching options and that’s when I found IGSRT. I read that low-level radiation has been used for over 90 years—and now with image guidance. That made sense to me.”
Jody called GentleCure right away. “I must have asked four million questions. They always answered quickly and never rushed me. They’re fabulous.”

She began Image-Guided Superficial Radiotherapy (IGSRT) – 24 short visits, in and out. “The staff was fantastic. We laughed a lot. I trusted them completely. I can’t tell you how fabulous GentleCure is. It was a 50-minute commute each way, but the drive was worth it because GentleCure works”. Jody’s doctor found a second skin cancer on her face, and she has been treated by the same team.
Jody has continued to share her story—sometimes without even realizing it. “My husband tells me I’m always advertising for GentleCure at pickleball. But people should know about this. They need options.”
Jody has also been intentional about empowering others and helping provide hope and comfort. She is a GentleCure Skin Cancer Fighter Ambassador who volunteers to speak with folks who have been newly diagnosed with nonmelanoma skin cancer.
Jody believes her journey proves the power of perseverance and good care. “I’ve survived cancer four times. I’m blessed by God to be here. If I can help someone else make a choice that causes less fear and less trauma, I’ll talk with anyone. You need to just show up for people.”
